External Works

External paintwork requires additional preparation, consideration and knowledge of materials used. Exterior surfaces need to be protected from rain, frost, UV and changes in temperature.

Examples of external works include front doors, garage doors and fascia’s. Commercially this includes roller doors, shop fronts, cladding and facades. Head over to the Commercial section of our website to find out more.

Garage doors are often the largest front facing painted section of a property. A respray, at a fraction of the cost of a replacement, is often a fantastic improvement for most houses. They are usually exposed to the elements and therefore require regular maintenance, cleaning and eventually painting to stay looking new.

External doors, whether the front or back, are the gateway into your home, they are as important as your internal décor and welcome you home each day.

Composite, aluminium, plastic, and timber garage or external doors all must be prepared, painted and cared for in different ways. We have the expertise, experience, and equipment to spray all these surfaces.  From low odour water-based finishes to DTM (direct to metal) 2pack solvents, we can advise on the correct product and process for each application.

How it works

Masking

The surrounding area of the door is cleaned then masked to ensure that no paint is transferred to other areas e.g. bricks, flooring, and if necessary we will remove the door.

Once the surrounds have been masked up, the surface of the door is checked for imperfections and filled where needed, it is then lightly sanded, cleaned and then degreased to ensure there is no contamination on the surfaces.
